Workshop was conducted by AJCE seem student chapter on 8th March 2019. Explained concept of sustainability and the need to do even a small thing efficiently. The workshop was conducted with help of power point presentations and also as an oral presentation including video footages. It also gave a brief description on how to conduct energy audit for sustainable energy champion 2019.  After this session Mr Philip Jose explained the procedure to be followed while doing a solar site survey .The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Denil Roy Joshua, chairman AJCE SEEM student chapter.

Inaugural ceremony welcomed by  where Prof. Richu Zachariah  on behalf of Amal Jyothi SEEM student’s chapter. Dr. Jacob Philip delivered the presidential address. Rev. Fr. Mathew Paikatt, Manager, AJCE officially inaugurated the Amal Jyothi SEEM student’s chapter and also delivered the inaugural address. Er. Jayakumar Nair, National Treasurer, SEEM had given a brief introduction about SEEM. Dr. P C Thomas, HOD-EEE and Er. Sivanandan, Treasurer, SEEM Kerala also addressed the gathering. Mr. Denil Roy Joshua, student secretary thanked the dignitaries for their esteemed presence. Er. E. A. Aliyar, Secretary, SEEM Kerala and Mr. Arjun, SEEM Executive- Projects were also there over viewing the inaugural function.

·         Second best project award for Sambhu Nair, Joby.G.David, Mebin Toms Mathew, Mijo.P. Saji S6 (ME) mentored by Abi Varghese AP- ME (Rs.45,000/-).                  Mr. Danny S8 ME A & Roy P.A M.Tech MD guided by Mr.George Sebastian received best paper award for “ Ergonomic evaluation of wheelchair treadmill”

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally (AJCE), organized 3-Day National Symposium on Modern Materials and manufacturing Techniques in association with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE),The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and Indian society for Technical Education Kerala Section from 9th to 11th January 2019. A total of 30 delegates registered for the symposium. The registered delegates comprised 20 faculty members from different engineering colleges including 3 delegates from outside the State and 10 delegates from AJCE. A total of more than 50 delegates attended different sessions held during three days. The symposium was inaugurated by Dr. M. Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and Department of Mechanical Engineering, AmalJyothi College of Engineering (AJCE) jointly organized National Symposium on composites: Design, Synthesis and Modelling at the college campus at Kanjirappally from 18th to 20th January 2018. In these three days Resource persons from various universities covered various important aspects in composites: to understand the concept of natural and synthetic composite materials and their applications, process selection guidelines, thermoset and thermoplastic composite production processes, process parameters, various testing and characterizations, composite design concepts using FEM and computation techniques, ANSYS parametric design for composite structures.
