The lecture was delivered by Mr. Stephen Babu, (Assistant Manager, Hindustan Petroleum) on 12th December 2020.

ONLINE TECHNICAL TALK SERIES : An insight into the Technologies and Real World applications of 3D Bio-printing

  Association of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally in association with Institution of Engineers (India) has organized the second lecture in their Online Technical Talk Series. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Piyush Padmanabhan, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Next Big Innovations Lab, Bengaluru on 13 th November, 2020. The talk was on the topic “An insight into the Technologies and Real World applications of 3D Bioprinting”. Around 60 participants, which includes students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel from all over India and across different engineering streams have attended the one hour session and had a healthy interactive session with the speaker. At the end of the technical discussion, the programme has been formally concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Roshan Kuruvila, Staff Advisor – Students’ Chapter – IE(I), AJCE.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ranjith M, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal on 5 th September, 2020. The talk was on the topic “Understanding bio-fluid dynamics and bio-heat transfer for biomedical applications”. Around 45 participants, which includes students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel from all over India and across different engineering streams have attended the one hour session and had a healthy interactive session with the speaker. In line with this event, the first lecture was arranged on 25 th July 2020. The speaker for the session was Dr. Tiju Thomas, Associate Professor, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Dr. Tiju talked on the topic “Nano materials for Energy and Environmental Applications” with specific emphasis on application of nitrides and other important materials for the same. Department of Mechanical Engineering and Additive manufacturing zone of AJCE organised a Webinar on "Recent Research and Development in Additive Manufacturing" on 25 th June 2020. This webinar focused on the current research and development in the area of additive manufacturing technologies. The influence of additive manufacturing in the post COVID world was also an important topic of discussion in this webinar. Additive Manufacturing Zone at Amal Jyothi, is a state- of –the- art facility where anyone can work on an idea and build a prototype using the concept of 3D printing, which would help them to figure out a potential market for their product.
