“Additional Skills Acquisition Programme (ASAP)- DAT (Design Align and Train)

AJCE  joined hands with the the General & Higher Education Departments of Government of Kerala under the “Additional Skills Acquisition Programme ( ASAP )- DAT (Design Align and Train) scheme” to conducted a Skill Development Programme known as "Machining Technician Level-3".  The syllabus of this course included theory and practical training on Safety, Measurements, Lathe work, Milling, Drilling, Grinding and introduction to Heat treatment and CNC operations. The students of this course could find their job role as Maintenance/ Helper Technician in related industries.

   Second prize was won for a table- top coconut dehusker developed by a team comprising Ajin Omanakuttan, Alen Anil, Akash CM and Parameswaran S , guided by Mr Abi Varghese.    Consolation prize went to the team of  Jes Thomas Mathew, Naveen Emmanuel, Jacob Abraham, Jiya George and Allan Mathew , guided by Mr Subin P George

Industrial Visit to Brahmapuram Powerplant

Visit of  S4 ME Students  to the Brahmapuram Powerplan t located in the suburbs of Cochin took place on the 16th of May 2016. Brahmapuram Powerplant  isa 36 Megawatt(MW) power plant using natural gas will be commissioned at Brahmapuram by Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) by September 2015. Brahmapuram plant has a total of five machines with a capacity to generate 20 MW power each. However, only three machines at the plant are in working condition now. The fuel used at the plant is low sulphur heavy stock (LSHS), a residual fuel processed from indigenous crude.

Make in India Opportunities and Challenges

IEI students Chapter AmalJyothi college of Engineering, ACE/MC/686518 organized a 2 day seminar on the topic “Make In India” opportunities and challenges on 12 th & 13 th April 2016.As a part of the two day programme Rev. Dr. Jose Kannampuzha, Principal, AmalJyothi college of Engineering welcomed the gathering. Er. Roshan Kuruvila, Staff advisor IEI Students’ Chapter introduced the various speakers to the audience. Mr. L Jyothish Kumar (President AMSI) inaugurated the seminar by Lighting of the lamp and explained the importance and the need of Make in India. On the above occasion Er. Varghese A Johns Engineering Coordinator of IE (I) Kochi   local centre Stressed the role of Engineers in this context. The seminar was organized in order to create professional awareness and the role of engineers in the Make in India programme. Sri. Vishnu Lakshmanan, student chairman, IEI students’ Chapter ACE/MC/686518 delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with Nation...
