Rural Innovators Meet (RIM) is a unique event organized by KSCSTE annually for the unorganized rural innovators and grass root innovators. RIM aims to provide a platform for the unorganized rural innovators and grass root innovators to exhibit and present their innovations and also to interact with Scientists and fellow innovators.

IEI students Chapter & ISTE of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, organized a One-day talk on “ Advances in Manufacturing Technology” by Dr. Thirumalai Kumaran, Associate Professor, Kalasalingam University on 5 th April 2018. The Forum was conducted, aimed at fostering interest among students in modern advancements in the field of manufacturing technologies for various engineering applications. The session was conducted by Dr. Thirumalai Kumaran. The Session started at the morning 9:30am on 5 th April. There were 40 attendees form different disciples of engineering stream The cooperation from the participants and the support from the faculties made the Forum a success.

IEI students Chapter & ISTE of Amaljyothi College of Engineering,  organized a One-day talk on “ Materials in Manufacturing Technology” by Dr. M Uthayakumar, Director, International Relations, Kalasalingam University on 4 th April 2018. The Forum was conducted, aimed at fostering interest among students in modern advancements in the field of materials for the various engineering applications. The session was conducted by Dr. M Uthayakumar. The Session started at the morning 9:30am on 4 th April. There were 80 attendees form different disciples of engineering stream The cooperation from the participants and the support from the faculties made the Forum a success. 

Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged a Industrial Visit to  Anna-Kitex group of companies , which is situated near  near Kochi  on 10th March 2018 with S2 ME Students Anna-Kitex group of companies, founded by the legendary Late Shri M. C. Jacob, Kitex Garments Ltd is the largest employer in private sector in the state of Kerala. It is located near Kochi and has easy access to sea and air ports. The company was established in 1992. With unmatched global connections, this company caters to prominent and renowned conglomerates in USA and Europe. The company currently employs over 7000 people at its facility, and has been a business provider to many satellite businesses in the state. Having started with INR 1.8 Crores turnover in the year 1995-96, the company has now grown to a turnover of over INR 524 Crores in 2014-15. Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged a Industrial Visit to  SAIL-SCL Kerala Limited (SAIL-SCL) , which is situated near the  Kolathara,  Kozhikode  on  13 th  February 2018  with S6 ME Students SAIL-SCL Kerala Limited (SAIL-SCL) is the only mini steel plant in Kerala. The company was originally promoted in the joint sector between the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (KSIDC) and a private entrepreneur in 1969. Company set up its mini steel plant in 1972 with installed capacity of 37,000 tons p.a. The Company commenced commercial production in September 1973. KSIDC raised its shareholding in the Company to more than 50% and thus Company became the subsidiary of KSIDC in 1979. 

A Talk on “Online Safety” was organised for S4 ME students on 03rd February 2018.The resource person was Prof.Syam Gopi,AP/CS, AJCE. Internet safety or online safety is trying to be safe on the internet and is the knowledge of maximizing the user's personal safety and security risks to private information and property associated with using the internet, and the self-protection from computer crime in general.

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and Department of Mechanical Engineering, AmalJyothi College of Engineering (AJCE) jointly organized National Symposium on composites: Design, Synthesis and Modelling at the college campus at Kanjirappally from 18th to 20th January 2018. In these three days Resource persons from various universities covered various important aspects in composites: to understand the concept of natural and synthetic composite materials and their applications, process selection guidelines, thermoset and thermoplastic composite production processes, process parameters, various testing and characterizations, composite design concepts using FEM and computation techniques, ANSYS parametric design for composite structures.
