Amal Jyothi College of Engineering proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its S4 Mechanical Engineering students for securing funding under the Young Innovators Programme (YIP) 8.0. The project titled “Megnexus Nutmeg Desheller” has been awarded a funding of ₹50,000 for being recognized as one of the best projects under the programme. This innovative solution aims to address practical challenges in nutmeg processing by introducing an efficient and scalable deshelling mechanism. The project was developed under the guidance of Dr Meby Mathew (Team Mentor), with dedicated contributions from Cristopher Jacob, Jenin J George, and Aswin A Nair. As part of the continuous improvement process and in alignment with the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted Department-Level Curriculum Revision Discussions on 16 April 2026. The discussions were organized to review the existing curriculum and identify necessary modifications to enhance academic quality, industry relevance, and alignment with emerging technological advancements.

A session by Abidh Habeeb, Founder & CEO of Incial, highlighted how students can transform academic projects into real-world ventures. The talk emphasized practical implementation, branding, and market relevance as key factors in bridging the gap between ideas and impact. Students gained insights into leveraging their technical skills to create meaningful career opportunities.

‘Team Stellar’ (Electric Vehicle Team of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering) on their remarkable achievement in multiple categories at the Solar Electric Vehicle Championship (SEVC) 2026, a national-level electric vehicle design competition, organized by Coimbatore Society of Racing Minds (CSRM) at Hindusthan College of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore. Among the six dynamic events of the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) category, “Team Stellar” won prizes in the following sections. 1. Maneuverability Winner (controlling and completing highly constrained track in less time), 2. Best Acceleration (covering a short distance in very less time), 3. HOH Winner (Rain test, waterproof vehicle), 4. Endurance Winner (Final Track Race – completing 1hr endurance, securing 1st position in BEV category and overall)

Their remarkable SGPA achievements reflect dedication, consistency, and a strong foundation for future academic success.

TEAM RAPID on their remarkable achievement at the 13th GKDC, conducted by ISNEE and held at Kari Motor Speedway Racetrack. Out of 105 teams registered for this prestigious national-level competition, only 30 teams successfully cleared the TI Test. We are proud to share that TEAM RAPID was among the qualified teams, demonstrating exceptional technical competence and dedication. In the highly competitive Endurance Test, the team secured 2nd Position in Kerala and an impressive 11th Position at the All India level. This outstanding accomplishment reflects their technical excellence, perseverance, and strong team coordination. This achievement brings immense pride and honor to our institution. We sincerely appreciate the hard work, commitment, and determination of the entire team and extend our best wishes for their continued success in future endeavors.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (Autonomous), organized an online alumni interaction session titled “From Campus to Career” on 4th February 2026 via Google Meet. The session was delivered by Mr. Roshan Oommen Jacob (B.Tech ME 2018–2022), currently with Synergy Marine Group, who shared valuable insights on career growth and industry expectations.

Five S4 Mechanical Engineering students from Amal Jyothi College of Engineering have successfully secured internship opportunities with stipend at Fluidtron, Northampton, USA. This achievement reflects the department’s commitment to academic excellence and industry readiness among its students.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an expert talk titled “From Mechanical Engineering to Cyber: A Career Journey” on 22nd January 2026 at CC 306. The session was delivered by Mr. Maxin Mathews, Assistant Director – Information Security at Ernst & Young (EY), who shared insights on transitioning careers and opportunities in the cyber security domain.
