Association of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally in association with Society of Energy Engineers & Managers (SEEM) has organized lecture in their Online Technical Talk Series. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Stephen Babu, (Assistant Manager, Hindustan Petroleum) on 12th December 2020.

  Association of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally in association with Institution of Engineers (India) has organized the second lecture in their Online Technical Talk Series. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Piyush Padmanabhan, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Next Big Innovations Lab, Bengaluru on 13 th November, 2020. The talk was on the topic “An insight into the Technologies and Real World applications of 3D Bioprinting”. Around 60 participants, which includes students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel from all over India and across different engineering streams have attended the one hour session and had a healthy interactive session with the speaker. At the end of the technical discussion, the programme has been formally concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Roshan Kuruvila, Staff Advisor – Students’ Chapter – IE(I), AJCE.

The talk was on the topic “Understanding bio-fluid dynamics and bio-heat transfer for biomedical applications”. Around 45 participants, which includes students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel from all over India and across different engineering streams have attended the one hour session and had a healthy interactive session with the speaker. At the end of the technical discussion, the programme has been formally concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Roshan Kuruvila, Staff Advisor – Students’ Chapter – IE(I), AJCE.

Webinar was conducted on automotive competitions in India such as SAE BAJA, SAE SUPRA, SAE TDC, GOKART DESIGN, FMAE QUADBIKE DESIGN CHALLENGE, FORMULA BHARATH, MEGA ATV, etc conducted by professional engineering societies on 6th Thursday, July 2020. Webinar discussed The different types of events that are being conducted. ·          The reason why you should be participating in any of these events before your graduation. ·          How to participate? ·          An overview of the skills (Designing and Utilising CAE tools) and knowledge you should have before you compete. ·          How to clear the preliminary rounds of various events.

Association of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally in association with Institution of Engineers (India) has initiated the concept of Online Technical Talk Series, in which experts from various domains will speak about a specific advancements. In line with this event, the first lecture was arranged on 25 th July 2020. The speaker for the session was Dr. Tiju Thomas, Associate Professor, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Dr. Tiju talked on the topic “Nano materials for Energy and Environmental Applications” with specific emphasis on application of nitrides and other important materials for the same. Around 98 participants, which includes students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel from all over India and across different engineering streams have attended the one hour session and had a healthy interactive session with the speaker. Association of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has conducted an appreciation meeting for students who have excelled in technical as well as extra curricular domains during the academic year 2018 – 19 on 19th August 2019. Head of the Department, Prof. Toms Philip addressed the gathering and congratulated the students for their outstanding achievements. Students groups shared their insights on problem formulation, approaches they have adopted for research and sources of project funding that can be applied for the same.

Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged a Industrial Visit to Anna-Kitex group of companies, which is situated near near Kochi on 23rd March 2019 with S2 ME Students Anna-Kitex group of companies, founded by the legendary Late Shri M. C. Jacob, Kitex Garments Ltd is the largest employer in private sector in the state of Kerala. It is located near Kochi and has easy access to sea and air ports.
