✈️ Alumni Interaction: Wings Beyond Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, in association with the IE(I) Students’ Chapter and IQAC, successfully organized an inspiring alumni interaction session titled “Wings Beyond Engineering.” The session featured Capt. Adithyan A. R (AJC15ME006), a proud alumnus of the 2015–2019 Mechanical Engineering batch, who shared his inspiring journey from Mechanical Engineering to the aviation industry. After completing his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from AJCE, Capt. Adithyan pursued his Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training at the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, followed by Assistant Flight Instructor Rating training at Orient Flights Aviation Academy, Mysore. He is currently undergoing the IndiGo induction process, marking the beginning of his professional journey as a commercial pilot. His journey demonstrated that a Mechanical Engineering degree can open doors to diverse and unconventional career pathways. The interaction encouraged students to dream beyond traditional engineering roles, embrace continuous learning, and confidently pursue their aspirations. We sincerely thank Capt. Adithyan A. R for sharing his journey and inspiring our students to explore the many possibilities that lie beyond engineering. ✈️

Safety Club in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized a Workshop on “Safety and Disaster Management” on 01/02/2020. The workshop was held at St.Alphonsa Hall (CC110) at 10.00 am. The workshop was handled by Fire & Rescue Office Team, Kanjirappally. The team has included Sri. Joseph Joseph, Fire Station Officer and five other officials. Around 125 first year B.Tech. students from both Mechanical and Electrical branches have attended the workshop. Both theory and practical sessions on safety were included in the workshop. The workshop delivered instructions on guidelines to identify hazards, report them, and deal with incidents. The workshop was also provided awareness to the students about how to save a life in real-time situation of any kind of danger or calamity that occurs with no advance or very little time. Department of Mechanical Engineering and Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter organised  a Technical talk on "Propulsion Through Ages " by     Sri Jasperlal, VSSC Trivandrum  on the 28th of March 2015. The talk threw light on a lot of things starting from the basics of Propulsion, he further explained the term  propulsion being derived from two Latin words:   pro  meaning before or forwards and  pellere  meaning to drive. A variety of methods included under Propulsion were discussed like: Ground propulsion which includes any mechanism for propelling solid bodies along the ground, usually for the purposes of transportation. Marine propulsion - the mechanism or system used to generate thrust to move a ship or boat across water.  Spacecraft propulsion having any method used to accelerate spacecraft and artificial satellites. "Art of Teaching '' competition was held exclusively for faculty members by APJKTU in association with the Group of Technology companies in September 2021.  The program aimed to provide a platform for teachers to showcase their creative teaching methods in the context of covid and dependence on online teaching.
