Online STTP on Research Methodology
A three-day Online STTP on Research Methodology was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally from 28-05-2020 to 30-05-2020. Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathew Paikatt, Manager of the college inaugurated the programme and Rev. Fr. Jacob Kodimarathummoottil, Bursar, Dr. Z. V. Lakaparampil, Principal, Prof. Tomy Joseph, Dean, Administration and Prof.Toms Philip, Head of Department attended the function. The resource persons for the six sessions in three days were Dr. R Sridharan, Dr. V. Madhusudanan Pillai, Dr. S. Sunitha, Dr. Vineesh K. P. (all of from National Institute of Technology Calicut) and Dr. Abdul Nazar K. P. from Government Engineering College, Kannur.
The training programme was focused on giving insight to faculty and aspiring students on various subjects like theoretical and scientific aspects, tools and methodology for research. Around 180 participants, which included faculty and research scholars registered for the programme. Out of 180 participants, 50 participants were from outside Kerala (AP, MP, Karnataka, J&K, Punjab, West Bengal, Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, HP, Chandigarh, Haryana). E-certificate was provided to participants who successfully attended the programme. Dr. Joby George and Prof. Tenny Thomas of the Mechanical Engineering Department were the coordinators of STTP.

Department of Mechanical Engineering and Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter organised a Technical talk on "Propulsion Through Ages " by Sri Jasperlal, VSSC Trivandrum on the 28th of March 2015. The talk threw light on a lot of things starting from the basics of Propulsion, he further explained the term propulsion being derived from two Latin words: pro meaning before or forwards and pellere meaning to drive. A variety of methods included under Propulsion were discussed like: Ground propulsion which includes any mechanism for propelling solid bodies along the ground, usually for the purposes of transportation. National Institution for Quality and Reliability (NIQR) Trivandrum & NIQR Amal Jyothi College Chapter organized a national webinar on “MONOZUKURI” and “HITOZUKURI”.
