Webinar on "Recent Research and Development In Additive Manufacturing"
Department
of Mechanical Engineering and Additive manufacturing zone of AJCE organised a Webinar on "Recent Research and Development in Additive
Manufacturing" on 25th June 2020. This webinar focused on the
current research and development in the area of additive manufacturing
technologies. The influence of additive manufacturing in the post COVID world
was also an important topic of discussion in this webinar.
Additive
Manufacturing Zone at Amal Jyothi, is a state- of –the- art facility where
anyone can work on an idea and build a prototype using the concept of 3D
printing, which would help them to figure out a potential market for their
product. The general purpose of this LAB is to empower the Amal Jyothi students
and staffs as well as the public to make what they cannot buy from shops.
The facility has potential for developing
prototypes, fabrication of biomedical structures like hearing aids, prosthetics
for the amputees and the disabled, toys and decorative products, demonstrative
models for educational institutions etc. to name just a few.
Being
a technology that is considered as a vital cog in the fourth industrial
revolution, it’s always beneficial to understand and stay updated about the
advancements in this field, which is ultimately the expected outcome of this
webinar.
