KURUKSHETRA- Inter Departmental Quiz Competition 2019

Quiz club of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, in association with IEI AJCE Student Chapter organized ‘KURUKSHETRA’, an inter-departmental quiz competition for the students of all branches of the college on 30^th and 31^st of October 2019 . The quiz began on the evening of 30^th October 2019, Wednesday, at 4:15 pm with “CHATHURANGA”, a preliminary round. Around 40 teams had registered for the event, in teams on two from their own respective departments, in this witty war to determine the best brains of the college. The quiz was officially inaugurated and declared open by Dr. Soney C. George, Dean Research, AJCE. IEI Coordinator Mr. Arjun K Raj and The Quiz Club President, Mr. Aswin S Nair were the main hosts of the event. From among the registered 40, the 15 worthy teams were selected by quizzing them with 20 general questions, the teams selected being on mark basis and forwarded to the second round. The second round nicknamed “ASWAMEDHA” was held on 31^st October 2019, Friday, in which a tight war of wits was held between the selected 15 teams. This round contained 13 questions of a slightly higher grade of difficulty and 6 teams were filtered out of the existing 15. These 6 teams were allowed to move on to the third round, “RAJASOOYA” held soon after. ‘RAJASOOYA’ saw a very intense battle between the 6 selected teams, as they answered a series of challenging as well as easy questions to finally select the best of the best, the winner of ‘KURUKSHETRA’. A cash award of Rs 3000 was awarded for the best team and Rs 1500 for the runner up team. Rs 500 was also awarded as a cash prize for the best participant from the audience. Abin Tomy and M K Narendra Prasad of S3, Electrical Engineering emerged as the winners of the quiz competition while Ebin Babu and Amal Joy of S7, Mechanical Engineering achieved the second prize. The event ended with the prize distribution ceremony, held very soon after. The event was an overall success, with the coordinators and participants enjoying the sweet taste of knowledge with fun and enthusiasm. The team who worked behind the able hands of Prof. Roshan Kuruvila, IEI staff in charge, Mr. Arjun K Raj and Mr. Aswin S Nair and proved to be extremely cooperative, strong and professional.
