The NSS Unit in conjunction with the AME  and RBC  of AJCE conducted a blood donation initiative on the theme   Share a Little- Care a Little , inaugurated by Fr.Manager and  Shibu Thekkemattam, dist. Co-ordinator, Blood Donation Forum     on the 31 of march 2015   The drive  provided a mammoth collection of  204 units of blood towards the Medical College, Kottayam and 61 Units to Kottayam District Hospital from almost 265 donors having 150 odd females at the helm ready to share the life giving blood to the needy.

Department of Mechanical Engineering and Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter organised  a Technical talk on "Propulsion Through Ages " by     Sri Jasperlal, VSSC Trivandrum  on the 28th of March 2015. The talk threw light on a lot of things starting from the basics of Propulsion, he further explained the term  propulsion being derived from two Latin words:   pro  meaning before or forwards and  pellere  meaning to drive. A variety of methods included under Propulsion were discussed like: Ground propulsion which includes any mechanism for propelling solid bodies along the ground, usually for the purposes of transportation. Marine propulsion - the mechanism or system used to generate thrust to move a ship or boat across water.  Spacecraft propulsion having any method used to accelerate spacecraft and artificial satellites. The students of Mechanical Engineering secured numerous achievements out of the campus, upon the realization that all work and no play would surely make them dull !!!. The students   secured prizes at various events held at Saintgits College of Engineering, Pathamuttom.  the list is as follows: VARUN S,  NOEL MENDIS, and  TOMIN JOSE secured first prize at  NAKSHTRA -SAINTGITS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING for  3X3 BASKET BALL  competit ion. George koshy   secured first prize at  NAKSHTRA -SAINTGITS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING for Junkyard Wars. Imran Khan and Rohit Joseph participated in county Cricket and 3X3 fOOTBALL EVENT held at  SAINTGITS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING. PAUL JOE MAMPALLY ,JOEL THOMAS,  JOHN PAUL ,RAHUL RAJEEV s ecured second prize at  Ritu '15 for the event Cognito-Idea Launch.

The Department of Mechanical engineering  organized an Agricultural Project Exhibition- ' K issan   Jyothi ' on the 18th of March 2015(Wednesday) a t the Open Market of Parathode Panchayat.   The exhibition was inaugurated by our Patron, His Excellency Mar Mathew Arackal, Bishop of Kanjirappally. During this various projects done at AmalJyothi College of Engineering under the  Mechanical Engineering  Department were displayed and the idea of commercialization of existing projects was the prime motive along with lending a helping hand to the framer community. The farmers and allied industrialists in the nearby areas showed keen interest, sharing their problems and providing with possible modification of the projects on display.
